How to Use calcwindow.com

Updated October 27, 2026 · 4 min read

calcwindow.com works like a desk. Each calculator is a window you can place anywhere, so you can keep several calculations in view at once.

Add a calculator

Use the + Calculator button at the top of the page to open a new calculator, or + Currency to open a currency converter. New windows appear in the first free spot on the desk. You can have up to eight windows open at the same time.

Move windows

Drag a window by the dotted grip at the left of its title bar, or by an empty part of the title bar. Keyboard users can focus the grip and press the arrow keys to nudge the window.

Magnet (snapping)

With Magnet on, a window snaps to the edges of the desk and to the edges of other windows as you drag, which makes it easy to line things up. Turn Magnet off to place windows freely.

Arrange

The Arrange button tidies all open windows into a neat grid. It is useful after you switch a calculator to Scientific mode, which makes the window wider.

Name, duplicate and close

Standard and Scientific modes

Every calculator window has two tabs. Standard gives you the everyday keys: the four operations, percent, square, square root, reciprocal and sign change. Scientific adds trigonometry, logarithms, powers, factorials and constants. You can switch back and forth without losing the number on the display. See the scientific calculator guide for examples.

Currency converter

Choose the currency you are converting from, type an amount with the keypad or your keyboard, and choose the currency you are converting to. The swap button reverses the two currencies. Read how currency conversion works to understand what the rate means.
